Department of Labor approves OVITA WIRED Initiative Implementation Plan
OVITA received word on October 26th from the Department of Labor that the Implementation Plan for the WIRED Initiative in Appalachian Ohio had been approved. The OVITA staff, Ohio Department of Job & Family Services, Workforce Investment Board Area1, and nearly 100 educators, workforce development professionals, economic development professionals, and local elected officials worked together over the past six months to developed concepts and programs that are incorporated in the plan. The plan outlines the work program for the 5 million dollar, three year WIRED grant and also incorporates additional funding programs that will collaborate to create a regional effort to grow a workforce in interactive digital technology. This plan will soon be posted in a downloadable PDF.
