| ITAAO
is a non-profit corporation serving the growing
information technology industry of southern
Ohio, the Appalachian region, and the Ohio
Valley region by promoting investment, knowledge
networking, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
Mission
Statement in brief:
ITAAO promotes the IT sector of Appalachian
and southern Ohio regions and the Ohio Valley
region. In
keeping with ITAAO’s mission the organization
plans to pursue the following work plan over
the next two to five years:
1.
Build and coordinate an angel investor network
that will seek-out investment opportunities
in the region for IT startup businesses, and
for the growth of existing IT businesses.
2.
Promote regional job creation through the
support of entrepreneurial technology projects,
company start-ups, expansions, and relocations.
ITAAO will document success stories and create
case studies for the benefit of entrepreneurs,
investors, grant providers, schools, training
programs, and other interested parties.
3.
Coordinate and promote new and emerging IT
strengths of the region. Facilitate the cooperation
between private interests, public and private
educational facilities, and government entities
in focusing upon these potential areas of
growth. Assist all parties in using available
technologies to minimize and/or eliminate
the geographic boundaries that have historically
limited cooperative ventures.
4.
Leverage the assets of the region by connecting
regional, state, and federal sources of business
support, technical knowledge, and funding
with the IT entrepreneurs in the region.
5.
Continue to expand the membership and services
of ITAAO as the IT trade organization serving
this region and representing this region's
IT industry to the state, the nation, and
the world.
